Cool, can we cut the interwebs next? Specifically social media? Or do the Overlords need it to keep us in check?

I bet we see her again as we pass through this next phase of madness.

My 2 cents on comments--Let your paid subscribers cover the overhead so that all who subscribe at any level can comment. It increases the richness of the experience and the crowd wisdom. But there are occasional people out there trying to sell something, and I would block those. Some are bots.

I too realized that I enjoy my commenters too much to make them pay to comment. :)

Hahahaha, that was brilliant! On a serious note, my prayers are with the citizens of Russia and Ukraine both… they didn’t ask for any of this. Government elites everywhere are so blatantly corrupt they are going to kill us all with their BS 😡

Yes. It's truly insane to see WWIII start and play out in real time.

There are no good guys.

That video is classic. Lovely. I would like to know if Putin has any arguments going for him. Don't know if you could dig out the truth of that?

Seems to me he certainly does: the lies about NATO and it's continual expansion etc. are on his side, for sure, I feel.

But is it truly a problem to have armed neighbours? They all freak out about it. China, USA (cuba thing?) and so on. But that's the leaders historic paranoia.

How real is it?

People now dying on the assumption it's real. So what's behind all this? Anonymous NATO policy makers pushing, pushing. And Putin following precisely their rationale and saying 'enough'. ?

I see that much. More depth and clarification from you if that's in your orbit would be good.

And then we have to move into looking at what Ukraine is. It's clearly not a monolithic entity: Ukraine. It's two countries in potential at least if not in fact. As I understand it. How true is that?

Failing all of the above simply factual reliable truths about the conflict would be good. 20,000 Russians dead said many reports. I doubt that very strongly. In some armies that's 20 divisions. More commonly say three. At the very least a whole division. Armies don't lose whole divisions like that. And this report isn't just 'lost', it said 'dead'. Deaths generally run at something like 10% and that's large. So we're looking at something like overall 200,000 killed and injured. Which would always be accompanied by thousands captured. Could take it up to a quarter of a million.

Total nonsense is my reaction. But I'm nothing but a layman. I'd like more facts.

I’m not a geopolitical expert by any stretch.

I’ve seen so many hypotheses about Putin.

1. He is suffering from long covid and his brain isn’t right.

2. He wants to re-erect the Russian empire.

3. He is a WEF stooge and this is merely a greater plan by the elites to carve up the world (the west will get the traditional west, China will get Taiwan, Russia will get eastern europe).

It’s hard for me to take the traditional right wingers seriously who dismiss Putin’s danger. This crowd laps up just as much propaganda as the neocorporate neoliberals. These are the small people that, the day before the invasion, were saying that Russia would never invade Ukraine. It only took a few hours after the invasion to see stories them cook up about “nazis” and so on.

There’s likely truth to both sides. No war is probably as simple as good vs. bad guys and we are able to see it in real time now.

Putin does have at least one thing going for him and that’s that he is a much better communicator than most western leaders, especially Biden, who belongs in a nursing home. Many times he has honed in on the hypocrisy of the west.

But being a good communicator doesn’t mean you are not evil. Jacinda is a good communicator also.

Generally, I just don’t believe in authority. Anyone who rises to the top of a human hierarchy is turd that has risen to the top of the toilet bowl.

My personal suspicion is that regardless of the truth of 1, 2, 3, this new “crisis” will be used to solidify central control, and I reject this. I think they will also use the war to keep doubling down on covid tyranny, especially in the northern hemisphere in the autumn.

We're not shifting to war permanently: it will be used as a way to reinstitute the next phases of covid tyranny in the autumn. It'll be tied in with war propaganda of course. Get your jabs/digital ID/central bank digital currencies or you're a Russian infiltrator.

Flu vaccines don't work either, but 50% of Americans still get them. And they were the most dangerous vaccines we had (apart from the smallpox vaccine) before the covid vaccines came along.

This covid psychosis has a lot more mileage in it. This is just a seasonal reprieve. Coming your way soon? Newer, second-generation self-amplifying mRNA vaccines, for covid, flu, and everything else:

P.S. I don't watch any war propaganda from either side, because it bores me. I fear my own rulers more than any other ones because they are the ones destroying my life.

Putin is another WEF Young Global Leader. Zelensky is also affiliated, not sure if he's a ful alumnus or just vaguely associated like Castreau. They're all playing their part in some way.

Yes, that's one hypothesis. Difficult for me to know exactly what is going on here. Trump's photo was on the WEF page at one time and probably still is and he gave a speech at WEF, but it doesn't mean he is on board with the agenda. Going to WEF meetings or trainings alone does not mean much. I have enjoyed lunches once in awhile, sponsored by Monsanto as a grad student 20 years ago at professional meetings, but it doesn't mean I am on board with GMOs.

I think it's difficult to pigeonhole some of these people. Trudeau, Ardern, Macron, and so on are most likely puppets for the cause because they lack the ability to deliver anything but scripted lines, but I think Putin is adept enough that he's able to break free of whatever aspirations Schwab and his ilk have for him and do what he wants.

"But is it truly a problem to have armed neighbours?" Well it seemed to be a problem back in th 1960's when the USSR was transporting missiles to Cuba. Also could you imagine if the same occurred today? The yank politico's couldn't bear it. But nowadays rank hypocrisy is the norm.
