I’ve been pretty sick for a couple of days: sore throat first day, congestion and fever the second, and fatigue and productive cough here on day three.
And no, I haven’t tested myself for covid-19, because the person I caught this from tested negative twice, and because I don’t intend to be out and about in society spreading it to anybody, whether I’m “positive” or not:
I’m never sick (last bout of this severity was sinusitis for the first time in my life in 2016), and to be hit this hard by a transmissible illness is a bit of a surprise to me, but I’m sure I’ll be over it in a couple of days at most. Problem solved.
Due to my absence at commenting in cultural matters for the last month or so, I couldn’t help but notice that the old themes of the past month have receded into the distance faster and faster with the emergence of each new theme in the recent weeks and days.
I come across a tremendous volume of funny stuff on a daily basis that illustrates the subtle shift over the past month, and I think you’ll see it, too, as we go along.
Humor helps when you’re sick, and it doesn’t take much energy, so here we go!
First, a flashback to 1995:
Remember the Bono concert in the Ukraine? Wasn’t that a few weeks ago? This scam of “we are your saviors” has been going on a long time.
And they sell because you’re buying.
Next up: the abortion wars. This one is sooooo last month.
Moving on (or back in time as the case may be) to trans issues, which is so February — April.
Moving on to Elon Musk and Hillary Clinton memes, which are always a favorite with me.
Next up, the “mass shootings.” Whether these events are orchestrated or opportunistic doesn’t matter much at this point.
If you think the police exist to protect you, you’re part of the problem. The reason you need to own a gun is in case you need to eliminate the cops who are drinking water in the parking lot for 40 minutes while an FBI-baited teen murders your kid.
I kind of doubt that Ayn Rand had school shootings in mind with this one, but it seems apropos:
How many times has this type of thing happened with public school shootings now? A lot. Change my mind:
Moving onward, let’s look at the topic of inflation which has come back round again since gas has reached record high prices.
At this point you might be pretty depressed, but you shouldn’t be, because these cycles only last so long. Nobody can predict how long, but notice how manically fast the themes have shifted in the past couple of weeks?
Having a population that is disordered, divided, sick, and depressed is advantageous to the regime. Chaos is beneficial to power consolidation by parasitic regimes (until it isn’t), so why would any of these problems be stopped or fixed? The cultural and institutional dysfunction leading to all of this chaos is so deep that it cannot be fixed by any top-down solution anyway.
Covid!
Vaccines!
Racism!
War!
Abortion!
Guns!
Monkeypox!
Aliens!
Circling back to racism or abortion even after a couple of weeks is just too boring. Do you see it? The powers that be need more orchestrated crises on the extreme end of things (mass shootings, another looming pandemic, or maybe even a faked alien invasion) to get the population back in line, worked up and agitating for a top down solution from Big Daddy Government.
This will happen, so just accept it and prepare yourself for it. But it has diminishing returns each time they do it:
Wonderful stuff. I needed a good laugh. 2023 flying cars? No. babies sucking goats. lol The programmers hard at work for their party cranking out all their culturally divisive greatest hits for the midterm ball. The alien thing though, there's something fishy going on there. All of a sudden congress and the pentagon want "transparency"? Please. Break me off a piece of that kit kat bar. (Edit: get well soon! try horse paste, i hear good things!)
Ah, I needed that. Quercetin, NAC, Zinc, and D, unless your level is already >65mg/nl. Diluted hydrogen peroxide nasal rinse works wonders.
Of course you know all that. But hey, sometimes when one is sick it’s easy to forget.
I’d add Black Seed Cumin Oil. But that’s just me.
