Many of us subscribe to a variety of Substacks. No need to crank out content when there is no inspiration. Or they can be short. Or about strawberries. Just fine.
That last picture is my favorite. I want to walk down one of those rows. Breathe that fresh air. It's a little otherworldly...like behind those trees is the Afterlife.
ooh i see strawberry wine for reals....maybe this year i will make some, more likely blackberry from all the 'free' offerings in the unkept alleys of Portland....but ooh...wanna try that sometime...
Wow the strawberries are gorgeous—my mouth is watering!!! We have local berry farms that sell them, and blueberries, blackberries, marionberries and more. They will be open soon …😊
Moving this weekend into a house (to rent while I wait for the big market crash). At least I'll get a bit of a yard, a step up from a 1 bed apartment, more space for our potted plants.
Love the strawberry photos! I'm thankful to have a pick-your-own farm 20 minutes away. Strawberry picking has ended there, and blackberry picking has just begun.
Loving the strawberries! That crop was a total failure for me in both Las Vegas (pill bugs loved it) and Thailand (chickens love it). Plus I think strawberries thrive with a nip more cold which encourages them to grow big before turning red with a burst of heat (much like tomatoes). Enjoy the garden!
I haven't enjoyed this much reading in decades. I don't know if it was you, the Ice Age Farmer, Chris Masterjohn etc... so I thank you all because we already have so much production I am giving organic food away. We are complete novices but grew organic produce all winter under grow lights and now have 100 plants to go into raised beds and bags too. We are looking to move so we can learn regenerative farming (currently have no land). How did all that learning happen in a few years...great writers on Substack and a few other blogs. Anyway nice to see you pop in because in between reading about the criminals destroying health I find balance emotionally and educationally in your posts! Enjoy your downtime.

Beautiful strawberries! Another five or six weeks before they'll be ready here ~ 😿

(I have a very vivid imagination.)

The only thing I want to say is MAN DO I WANT THOSE STRAWBERRIES.
yum!
You do not have to pause billing. We believe in paid vacations here.
Gorgeous pics. I think after the last 2 years we all need to recharge.
